"Race to the Finish"

Dear Lineville Families-

As the year comes to an end our school is focusing on a “Race to the Finish: Your Marathon to the end of the year”.  During this time we are counting one mile a day for the last 26 days, giving tips for a successful end of the year, hanging motivational quotes around school, and working with the American Cancer Society to provide educational materials.

The following articles have been created by the American Cancer Society to aid parents in their quest to raise healthy and happy kids.  The information will provide you with information on the topics of:

  • Physical activity
  • Nutrition
  • Sun safety
  • Tobacco and alcohol prevention

It is our hope that this information will help guide discussions with your child about the topics and provide you with the facts needed to answer some of the tough questions.

Thank you for your continued support.

The Lineville Way

logo.jpgCurrent 4th grade students and new students to Lineville can sign up for "The Lineville Way" through the "Getting Ready Class" Summer School Program.  This class is very helpful with the transition to Lineville Intermediate. Students get to know the building, practice locker combinations, organize their lockers and understand their schedule.  The final day of each session, parents are encouraged to attend a meeting with the principal at 10:45.

Environmental Science Fair 2012 Spectacular

environement science2012.jpgAn incredible display of knowledge! There is just no other way to phrase it . . .  that was this year’s Environmental Science Fair.  A big thank you to all of the students/families that took the time to research and create projects.   Once again, I was very proud as the evaluators raved about students’ work.  They were impressed with what the kids knew about their topics, how excited they were and how well they communicated their thoughts.  All of these are very important lifelong skills. So, to all of you that took the time, “Great Job!!”

So many people helped out with this fair to make it a success.

  • Steve DeBauche for helping with set up and take down of the fair
  • All Lineville teachers for their flexibility during the Science Fair
  • Mr. LaBlonde, Mr. Alexander, & Ms. Schulz for giving up their classroom for 2 days!!!
  • NSight/Cellcom for providing the grant for student t-shirts and awards
  • Lineville’s Earth Defenders for giving input for creating an event like this.

A big thank you to the following people who took time out of their busy schedules to evaluate the students’ projects.

Steve Wood              Ann LaHaie             Sue Casleton           Deb Bos            Joan Lemke
Chuck Templer          Phil Hart                  Carol Pearson          Andrea Thiry-Wenz
